We cannot love and obey God unless we first understand Him. God reveals and explains Himself to us through the writings of the prophets and apostles and the life and teaching of Jesus Christ.

"I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path." (Psalm 119:104).

"My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." (Hosea 4:6).
