Damnation or condemnation can be either the process of passing judgement on a criminal, or the punishment itself. In the Bible it usually refers to death as the punishment for disobeying God's commandments.

"Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation." (Romans 13:2, KJV).
