Nations are people bonded together by a common ancestry, language,
territory, or other reasons for association. When the Bible
refers to 'the nations' it usually means all nations other
than Israel, who are God's people. The nations are Godless,
whereas Israel serves Yahweh the true God. It is worth noting
that the KJV consistently has 'heathen', the old English word
for non-Jewish or non-Christian nations (for example see Psalm
2:1-2).
