Becoming One of God's Family.

The Bible teaches us that God chooses men and women to be adopted into His family.
"…For He chose us in him [Jesus Christ]…to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will." (Ephesians 1:4-5).

"But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights [KJV: "the adoption"] of sons. Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out 'Abba, Father.' So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir." (Galatians 4:4-7).

"He [Jesus] replied to him, 'Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?' Pointing to his disciples, he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.'" (Matthew 12:48-50; see also Romans 8:12-15, KJV).

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!…. Now are we children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he [Jesus Christ] appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is." (1 John 3:1-3).
