The Coming Reign of Christ on Earth.

The 'Millennium' is the name given to the reign of Christ on the earth for one thousand years. During that time the earth will be restored to its original beauty, and all human weaknesses and the evils to which men are prone, including death itself will be gradually subdued and finally removed altogether (see Revelation 20).

At the end of the Millennium, after a short-lived and unsuccessful rebellion by the nations of the earth (see Revelation 20:7-8), Christ will surrender his delegated authority to God His Father (see 1 Corinthians 15:28).
