The Sadducees were nominally a religious, but also a politically
minded and worldly, party among the Jews at the time of Christ.
They were mainly the friends of the high priest and King Herod.
They believed that only the Law of Moses was obligatory.
"The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and
that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees
acknowledge them all." (Acts 23:8).
