In the Bible 'The Remnant' usually refers to those who are
left of Israel after God has punished them by scattering them
among the nations of the world (see Leviticus 26:27-45).
To keep His promise to the fathers of Israel, God will save
a remnant of His people and bring them again to His land,
a process which began at about the year 1900 AD, and will
be completed after Jesus returns. Until the present time all,
or almost all, Jews have returned to Israel for national political
reasons, because they wished to do so, and are not aware that
God is recalling them, His People to His Land (see Isaiah
10:20-23; 11:10-16; Jeremiah 31:10).
"I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will surely
bring together the remnant of Israel
. Their king will
pass through before them, the Lord at their head." (Micah
2:12-13).
