2. The restoration of Israel before the return of Christ
The nation of Israel was destroyed and the people scattered
among all nations by the Romans in 70 AD; and again in 115
AD, and 135 AD when the Romans returned to put down further
rebellions. They have remained scattered for eighteen hundred
years. The people of Israel are now being restored to their
land ready for the coming of their Messiah, the Lord Jesus
Christ. This scattering and regathering was foreseen by the
prophets and the Lord Jesus Christ (see Leviticus 26:27-45;
Deuteronomy 30:1-10; Matthew 23:37-39).
The restoration of Israel will bring blessings to all the
peoples of the world (see Genesis 12:2-3).
